Document accessibility for teams without in-house specialists

UnifyBoard™ remediates PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, forms, templates, and document libraries—so public and staff-facing files work for more people, not just look finished on screen.

When documents become the bottleneck

  • Public PDFs fail basic structure checks—or pass a checker and still fail with a screen reader.
  • Staff recreate the same inaccessible reports every quarter because templates were never fixed.
  • Procurement or partner requests ask for accessible deliverables your team cannot produce confidently.
  • Large archives mix scanned images, complex tables, and obsolete formats with no prioritization plan.

What we evaluate and remediate

PDF tagging, reading order, tables, forms, language, and document properties

Word styles, headings, lists, tables, alt text, and accessible export habits

PowerPoint titles, reading order, charts, and master layouts

Excel structure, named sheets, data tables, charts, and input guidance

Reusable templates and author guidance that reduce repeat barriers

Batch and library programs with inventory and prioritization

What good looks like

  • Files clearer to navigate with assistive technology—and easier for authors to maintain
  • A defined scope for each engagement instead of vague “make everything compliant” requests
  • Deliverables and findings your team can hand to stakeholders, vendors, or internal reviewers

How document engagements usually run

  1. Clarify file types and use

Public notice, internal policy, training deck, data workbook—purpose shapes remediation.

  2. Sample and prioritize

We identify representative files and what must be fixed first.

  3. Remediate structure and content

Semantics, reading order, alternatives, and forms—not cosmetics alone.

  4. Validate and hand off

Tool evidence plus manual checks, with notes for prevention when useful.

Validation approach

Automated checkers are supporting evidence. We also review reading order, semantics, tables, forms, and—when appropriate—keyboard and screen-reader oriented behavior. We do not treat a green checker score as proof of accessibility.

Important notice

Accessibility requirements vary by organization, jurisdiction, content, and use case. UnifyBoard™ provides accessibility evaluation and remediation services, not legal advice or regulatory certification.
